Ancestral Code, ‘Home On The Limbic Range’ (1995)
20" x 24" black and white silver prints, selenium toned
Looking back on earlier work from the 1990s, to see and be reminded - that I continue to dig into similar themes and continue to shape my imagery with scientific and personal content - but just using different tools. I was making prints in the darkroom, playing with selenium toning when the computer first ‘came around’. In my department, it was the wonderful Harry Holland who introduced the creative potential of working digitally. I soon began experimenting with digital imaging, image transfer, and continue on….. I think about the ‘new’ tools of today (AI) and look forward to witnessing the imaginative ways my students will share their voices through this technology.
